Jewelry Insurance: What to Know Before You Call
Why Consider Jewelry Insurance?
Your homeowners or renters insurance may not provide the level of protection you expect for valuable jewelry. Jewelry insurance can provide specialized protection for your pieces, including:
π Worldwide & Travel
Your jewelry can be protected anywhere in the world, 365 days a year, so you don't have to worry about separate international coverage when traveling.
π Accidental Loss
If an earring falls out, a ring goes missing, or you simply can't find a piece of jewelry, accidental loss is covered.
π Theft
If your jewelry is stolen, you're covered for full replacement, subject to the policy terms.
π₯ Accidental Damage
Accidents happen. Damage such as a chipped stone, bent prong, or other accidental damage can be covered.
β Mysterious Disappearance
If you can't explain when, where, or how a piece disappeared, the policy can still provide coverage.
π Loss of Stones
Coverage includes the loss of a stone from your jewelry.
π 125% Replacement Value
Coverage can provide up to 125% of the appraised value toward replacement if the value of your jewelry has increased, subject to the policy terms.
$0 Deductible
The policy has no deductible for covered claims.
π§ Preventative Maintenance
Coverage includes certain maintenance and repairs, including:
-
Prong retipping
-
Broken, worn, or bent prongs
-
Broken earring posts
-
Clasp replacement
-
Restringing broken or stretched pearl strands
-
Stone tightening
π Automatic Annual Value Updates
Your insured value is automatically updated annually to help keep your coverage current.
π Limited Impact on Homeowners Insurance
According to the program information, a jewelry claim has limited impact on your homeowners or renters policy coverage or cost.
π€ White Glove Claims Service
BriteCo provides a VIP claims process designed to provide personalized assistance through the claim and restoration process.
